2026 Wedding Photography Personal Manifesto

As I head into my 19th year as a wedding photographer I wanted to put together a personal manifesto of my work and what's important to me going ahead...

I consider my images to be a blend of candid & staged photography, but as time goes on I find myself increasingly drawn to towards the former while keeping staged images as natural as possible. I don't chase trends...I believe in timeless, beautiful moments. I don't think these will ever look dated go out of style.

Wales' weather often plays it's part...it's unpredictable nature throws a chaos into my work which only be seen as a positive.

My clients put together some spectacular weddings, are themselves beautifully styled and presented, but always have a down to earth nature. I don't know what a bridezilla is, I'm yet to meet one.

While I put the couples first, the guests are a very close second. A wedding is such an amazing opportunity to get everyone together and it's my job to capture them. I do take family group shots, if asked, because they're are a great bit of history, but my favourite images show them having a great time. Oh, and bring your dog too!

Delivering a finished album to a client is my proudest moment...I hope couples show their friends and family this rather than posting everything on Instagram. Oh and AI? That doesn't get a look in on my business...I'll happily spend my time sifting through thousands of images to give you the perfect collection before I give that task away to a soulless machine.

The photography needs to be an asset to that not a hinderance. I will get involved when appropriate, but also take a step back and allow the day to happen. Incredible, beautiful photography means nothing unless it represents moments you want to remember.

Finally, and the most important thing, is I'm incredible grateful to have this job and thankful to the people who chose me to capture their weddings. For this reason I will always bring my A-game, give my full attention and treat each wedding like it's the most important event I've ever attended.

Lets go 2026...
