I've always wanted to go for a big tour in Europe and I finally got the chance! A few months ago I spied a rare free fortnight in my calender and decided that would be the time to get going. My original plan was to head to Santander on the Ferry, then go across the Pyrenees, before heading to Italy. Unfortunately on the morning I was due to set off the weather was appalling, with gale force winds and torrential rain, so I decided to miss the ferry and wait a day before setting off. My new route went through the Eurotunnel, to The Bike Loft in Belgium (a great place to stay http://www.grd.be/bikersloft/eng/frame.htm), Nurburgring (and a few cheeky laps!), Black forest, Swiss Alps and then down as far as Lake Garda. On the way back I went West heading through Geneva. The trip took a total of 14 days - enjoy some of the snaps I took as I went along!
